Bing’s interest in the discus hobby started in the 1960’s. At that time, the discus hobby was in its infancy. Most of the discus available were wild caught and limited to the brown, green and heckle varieties. To create new varieties of colors, hobbyists must be able to raise the fry away from the parental fish. Bing was a pioneer in developing a method for raising discus fry artificially. With that success, Bing went on to develop the colorful Bing’s Cobalt Blue Discus Recently, he focused on sharing his knowledge as a seminar speaker and discus show judge. He had travelled extensively worldwide to judge shows in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China , Germany, France & USA!
Bing has written numerous articles on discus fish for many hobby magazines , sharing his method to raise Discus fry artificially! Many of todays new Discus varieties are due to Bing’s sharing!
